Phillip was born in South Korea, he grew up in the US, worked in Hong Kong, and is currently based in London UK.
His novel – Nothing Gained, published by Penguin Random House in 2013 – and literary magazine which he has co-owned and acted as Managing Editor – Asia Literary Review – have focused on writing from and about Asia.
He is active in London promoting literature from Asia, including acting on an arts advisory board with Asia House and collaborating with the Korean Cultural Centre of the UK.
He recently completed acting as Project Manager and lead Editor for an autobiographical coffee table book – FREE – by world-renowned dancer and performing artist Sergei Polunin, published by teNeues Media, out in April 2021.
His previous career over thirty years was in investment banking and corporate finance advisory. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
He is married and has a daughter.
